If you are reporting a bug, these help a lot: your phone’s make and model, the Android version, the Fokus IO version (at the bottom of Settings), what you did, and what you expected instead.
The Shield is not blocking
- Is “Fokus IO Blocking” switched on under Settings → Accessibility? Nothing works without it.
- If the toggle is greyed out: on Android 13+, open App info → ⋮ → “Allow restricted settings”.
- Have you picked at least one app? A shield with no list does nothing.
- If the mode is “During a focus session”, blocking only runs while a session is going.
- On Xiaomi, Samsung and similar devices, allow auto-start and exempt Fokus IO from battery optimisation.
Screen time is not showing
Screen time needs Android’s Usage Access permission. Go to Settings → Apps → Special access → Usage access, find Fokus IO and switch it on. The numbers appear on the next launch.
A child’s device is not syncing
The parent dashboard shows when the device last checked in, and warns separately when enforcement has stopped. If a device has gone quiet, the usual causes are: no internet, the app was force-stopped, or battery optimisation shut it down.
Deleting your account
In the app: Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account & Data. If the app is no longer installed, email us from the account’s email address.
